For students of all ages! Goat Tying: You will learn the roll-around flank, how to maintain contact with the goat and pin the legs effectively, the perfect get-off, and the whip style tie, as well as a variety of tips and techniques for practicing and making consistent runs. Students will work on goat tying dummies, live goats, “Paint” the get-off sled, and their won horses. Kids will be pushed with timed runs and will be engaged in a min-jackpot. Breakaway: You will learn the basic to advanced fundamentals, along with many tips and techniques for shaving seconds off your breakaway roping runs. Students will rotate through many stations which involve ground work, roping the breakaway sled, and live cattle. We will have a selection of Willard breakaway ropes and strings available. (If you know ahead of time what you need, contact us a month ahead so that we can special order for you.)
Clinic Registration FormMost clinics are video taped and played back so that girls can view their progress and mistakes can be identified. I incorporate many games into each clinic so that it is not only hard work, but is also fun. Girls also have a chance to view many of my runs from High School and College Rodeo and watch the progression of my changing style. Most clinics include a goal setting session and some words of inspiration, practice techniques and work-out suggestions. Beginning in 2008, all participants received t-shirts and have become part of a newsletter which includes practice tips and encouragement. As always, past students are always welcome back at the Y4 Ranch for free tune-ups.
I have priced my clinics far below that of any other 2 1/2 day goat tying clinic in the area. My #1 goal is to help young boys and girls improve their goat tying skills and to help them become winners.
